Rangers’ Brassard tests positive for mumps

Mumps has claimed another victim.

New York Rangers forward Derick Brassard was held out of action on the weekend with a suspected case of mumps. He has tested positive for the virus, the team has confirmed.

Brassard becomes the 15th NHL player to officially be diagnosed with mumps.

Brassard, 27, has eight goals and 24 points in 27 games with the Rangers this season.
