The New York Rangers have signed UFA centre Jarret Stoll, the team announced Monday.
The contract is reportedly a one-year deal valued at $800,000.
Stoll, 33, was arrested for possession of cocaine and Ecstasy in Las Vegas in April and was charged with one count of felony drug possession of a controlled substance. The longtime member of the Los Angeles Kings pleaded guilty to two reduced misdemeanour charges in June and did not face jail time. He was sentenced to 32 hours of community service in Las Vegas.
Stoll, who began his career in Edmonton after the Oilers selected him in the second round of the 2002 draft, has registered 140 goals and 379 points in 792 career NHL games and has won two Stanley Cups with the Kings.
