Red Wings assign Teemu Pulkkinen to AHL

DETROIT — The Detroit Red Wings assigned left wing Teemu Pulkkinen to the Grand Rapids Griffins of the AHL on Wednesday.

Pulkkinen scored his first NHL goal on Tuesday night in Detroit’s victory over the Minnesota Wild. Now the Red Wings are off for the All-Star break.

Pulkkinen is expected to represent the Griffins in AHL All-Star events Sunday and Monday in Utica, New York.
