Replay of the Day: This just in: Pavel Datsyuk is something special.
The hockey player’s favourite hockey player was the reason the Detroit Red Wings extended their remarkable winning streak at Joe Louis Arena to a silly 22 games on Friday night. <br.
Not only did Datsyuk beat Nashville Predators all-star defenceman Ryan Suter to score the game-winning goal with a mere five ticks left on the game clock, but he also set up the game’s first goal in resourceful fashion.
Rushing into the Preds’ zone against Nashville’s other all-star D-man, Shea Weber, the Russian blows a tire and falls to the ice along the boards. But that doesn’t stop him from dishing out a nice backhanded pass to Todd Bertuzzi, who sets up Johan Franzen for the score.
Double the Datsyuk, double the fun.
