Calgary Flames general manager Brad Treliving is discussing a contract extension with the team’s head coach Bob Hartley, according to the Calgary Sun.
There’s currently no timetable on when a deal might get done or how long the extension would be.
“No rush but we’re talking,” Treliving explained. “I would suspect we’re going to get there.”

Hartley and the Flames have exceeded expectations to this point in the season, amassing a 10-6-2 record through their first 18 games.
“I want to keep this a non-issue but obviously I’ve been nothing but impressed with Bob,” Treliving said. “For both of us, we had to get to know each other. We’ve done that and we are doing that, and I can’t say enough about the good things Bob has done here. I couldn’t have envisioned it going any better. I’m thoroughly impressed with him as a person and with the job he’s done.”
Hartley has been the Flames’ coach since the start of the 2012-13 season, while Treliving has served as GM since April after being an assistant GM with the Coyotes for more than a decade.
