San Jose, Calif. — According to a report from Montreal newspaper La Presse, Montreal Canadiens centre Lars Eller and his agent Kevin Epp have been assured by general manager Marc Bergevin that he will not be traded.

Eller, who has been the subject of several trade rumours in recent weeks, has a $3.5-million cap hit until July of 2018. He will be paid $9 million in actual salary over that time.

“Lars isn’t going anywhere,” Epp told La Presse in a telephone interview Monday. “The Canadiens aren’t looking to trade him.”

Eller has 10 goals and 10 assists in 62 games this season.
