The Edmonton Oilers put members of their roster on notice last week, but following the weekend trades of Justin Schultz, Anders Nilsson and Teddy Purcell, Edmonton’s core forwards appear safe Monday with just a couple hours remaining until the 3 p.m. ET trade deadline.
The Oilers are “unlikely” to move Nail Yakupov before the NHL trade deadline, ESPN’s Joe McDonald reports Monday.
The Fourth Period reports that 2012’s first-overall pick would welcome a trade out of Edmonton.
Yakupov, 22, has scored five goals and 10 assists in 42 games this season.
Edmonton did add players Monday. The Oilers picked up forward Adam Cracknell (Vancouver) and defenceman Adam Pardy (Winnipeg) off waivers.
