Report: Jonathan Drouin could be traded within 24 hours

NHL insider Chris Johnston joins Hockey Central at Noon to discuss the definition of 'equal value' with respect to a Jonathan Drouin trade, according to Tampa Bay and to the rest of the league.

Jonathan Drouin, who requested a trade from the Tampa Bay Lightning in November, could be moved within the next 24 hours, according to Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports.

Lavoie reported that the most persistent rumour involves the St. Louis Blues who have been a popular potential landing spot for Drouin.

After the trade request and since experiencing injury trouble this season, Drouin was recently sent down to the Lightning’s AHL affiliate for conditioning. Drouin, through his agent Allan Walsh, has cited a lack of playing time as motivation for the trade request.

Drouin has two goals and eight points in 19 NHL games this season and two goals in four AHL games with the Syracuse Crunch since his demotion.
