Report: Mike Yeo interviews for Blues’ assistant job

St. Louis Blues head coach Ken Hitchcock comments on next season being his last coaching.

Former Minnesota Wild coach Mike Yeo is meeting with the St. Louis Blues for one of their vacant assistant coaching jobs, according to a report from Michael Russo of the Star Tribune.

The Blues are looking to fill two assistant coaching vacancies after Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported on Wednesday that Kirk Muller was set to leave the team.

St. Louis re-signed head coach Ken Hitchcock to a one-year deal on Tuesday after he led the Blues to the Western Conference Final this season. St. Louis fell in six games to the San Jose Sharks.

Hitchcock said on Tuesday that the 2016-17 season would be his last.

Yeo was fired by the Wild in February after they started the season 23-22-10. The 42-year-old has previously been linked to interviews with the Ottawa Senators, Calgary Flames and Anaheim Ducks for their coaching vacancies.
