The Florida Panthers have agreed to a six-year extension with forward Aleksander Barkov, according to a report from George Richards of the Miami Herald.
Barkov, 20, was scheduled to become a restricted free agent after the 2015-16 season.
The Panthers forward has recorded 12 goals, 18 assists with a plus-12 rating in 38 games with Florida this season.
Barkov was originally selected by Florida with the second overall pick in the 2013 NHL Draft.
There will be a press conference at noon on Tuesday, confirmed by Barkov himself.
