Rick Nash’s hot start to the 2014-15 campaign continued Tuesday, as he set a New York Rangers record by becoming the first player in franchise history to score in each of the first four games of season.
Nash slid a backhand shot past New York Islanders netminder Jaroslav Halak to open the scoring in the first period. It was his fifth goal of the year. In the third period, Nash added his sixth of the year, which currently leads the NHL.
The 30-year-old finished last season with 26 goals, 13 assists in 65 games with his longest goal-scoring streak being a five-game stretch between Jan. 18-26 where he registered seven goals.
