Rickard Rakell out with upper-body injury against Flames

Drake Caggiula scored his first career goal and Leon Draisaitl banged in the OT winner to get the Oilers a 3-2 win over the Ducks.

The Anaheim Ducks‘ leading scorer Rickard Rakell will be out with an upper-body injury Sunday against the Calgary Flames.

Rakell leads the team in goals with 10 even though he has only played in 16 of Anaheim’s 25 games this season. His 14 total points are the sixth highest on the team.

The 23-year-old was seen in pain after scoring a goal in their last game against the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday.

The Ducks signed Rakell to a six-year, $22.8 million contract on Oct. 14, but he was not able to make his season debut until Nov. 1 due to problems obtaining a work visa.

This is not the first time the Swedish centre has missed time due to injury problems in his career. He missed the World Cup of Hockey last September when he had surgery to remove scar tissue from an appendectomy he had last April.
