The Buffalo Sabres have acquired forward Scott Wilson from the Detroit Red Wings in exchange for a fifth-round pick in 2019.

Prior to being dealt to the Red Wings in an October trade, Wilson played in parts of four seasons for the Pittsburgh Penguins. He recorded 26 points for Pittsburgh in 2016-17, also appearing in 20 playoff games.

“We are very happy to add Scott to our roster,” Sabres general manager Jason Botterill said in a release. “Scott is a hard-working, young player that will be a great fit for our club. As a two-time Stanley Cup Champion, his experience will be an asset both on and off the ice.”
