Buffalo Sabres‘ defencemen Dmitry Kulikov and Josh Gorges made their returns to the team’s lineup on Friday against the Washington Capitals.
Kulikov had been out since Nov. 11, missing the team’s last 13 games with a lower-back injury which he originally suffered in pre-season.
Gorges, meanwhile, had sat out Buffalo’s last three games after suffering a non-displaced fracture in his foot.

In a corresponding move, the Sabres sent 19-year-old defenceman Brendan Guhle back to the WHL’s Prince George Cougars.
Guhle, who was called-up on an emergency basis, had to be returned to junior upon Gorges’ return. The 2015 second-round pick made a strong impression on the Sabres’ blue line in his three games, averaging 16:21 of ice time against some of the NHL’s elite competition in the Bruins, Capitals and Oilers.
Forward Nicolas Deslauriers, who had missed the Sabres’ last 19 games with a knee injury, also made his return to the lineup on Friday.
