The Edmonton Oilers received a boost to their lineup as centre Sam Gagner has been medically cleared to make his regular season debut.

The Oilers host the Toronto Maple Leafs Tuesday and the centre is expected to play on a line with Jordan Eberle and Nail Yakupov after missing the first 13 games of the 2013-14 campaign.

Gagner had his jaw broken during a pre-season game in September when he was hit in the face with a high stick by Vancouver Canucks right winger Zack Kassian, who was suspended five regular season games for the incident.

In 48 games with the Oilers last season the 24-year-old had 14 goals and 38 points. In 414 career NHL games the sixth-overall pick from the 2007 NHL Draft has 91 goals and 167 assists in six seasons with Edmonton.
