The San Jose Sharks signed prospect Kevin Labanc to an entry-level deal Wednesday.
Labanc currently leads the Ontario Hockey League in scoring, with 119 points in 59 games with the Barrie Colts. He is tied with Conor Garland of the Moncton Wildcats (QMJHL) for the most points across the entire CHL.
The Sharks drafted Labanc in the sixth round, 171st overall in the 2014 NHL Draft.
The Staten Island, N.Y. native has represented the United States at the 2012 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge and the 2013 IIHF World Under-18 Championships.
