Marco Scandella has earned his place as a top-four defenceman with the Minnesota Wild, and he’s been rewarded for his steady service.
The team signed the 24-year old to a five-year, $20 million extension on Saturday.
Scandella has five goals and eight points and plus/minus rating of plus-7 in 20 games this season.
The Wild currently sit in fifth place in the competitive Central Division, despite a +11 goal differential.
