After the Detroit Red Wings and Colorado Avalanche alumni took centre stage at the Stadium Series in Denver Friday, the two current clubs fought for two points on Saturday night.
It was the warmest outdoor game since the novelty began in 2003.
In warmer climates, the NHL uses fake snow to line the surrounding field. It uh…got out of control during the third period.

The Red Wings edged the Avs 5-3 after Brad Richards scored the winner with one minute remaining.
