Replacing Alfie? Sens acquire Ryan from Ducks

Bobby Ryan has been traded to the Ottawa Senators.

The Ottawa Senators moved fast after losing Daniel Alfredsson.

The Senators acquired Bobby Ryan from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for Jakob Silfverberg, prospect Stefan Noesen, and a first-round pick.

Ryan, 26, has two years remaining on his contract with a salary cap hit of $5.1 million.

The Ducks re-signed Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf to extensions during the regular season and may not have had room to sign Ryan after his contract expired.

He scored 11 goals and 19 points with 17 penalty minutes in 46 games last season.

The Senators already signed former Toronto Maple Leafs forward Clarke MacArthur to a two-year deal earlier on Friday.

Silfverberg was considered to be one of the best young players in the Senators organization.

The 22-year-old Swede posted 10 goals and nine assists in 48 games last season.
