The Ottawa Senators have assigned defenceman Thomas Chabot to AHL Belleville, and forward Alex Formenton to the OHL’s London Knights.

Chabot was recalled on Oct. 8 as the Senators blue line was shackled by injuries to Erik Karlsson and Johnny Oduya.

The 20-year-old had two assists and was a plus-4 in three games with Ottawa – but with Oduya returning to play in Saturday’s win over Edmonton, and Karlsson a possibility for Tuesday, Senators management found it better to return the 2015 first-round pick to Belleville.

Formenton was a second-round pick in June’s NHL Draft and has appeared in one game with the Senators this season.
