Ottawa Senators forward Bobby Ryan will not require surgery on his broken finger and is expected to miss about a month of action.
Ryan suffered the injury in Saturday night’s win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The 29-year-old has 12 goals and 24 points in 50 games this season. He is in the second year of a seven-year, $50.75-million contract.
Ottawa has been hit hard by the injury bug of late, also losing Mike Hoffman, Tommy Wingels and Mark Stone. The club recalled prospects Casey Bailey and Max McCormick from Binghamton Monday morning.
The Senators begin an East Coast road trip Tuesday in New Jersey.
