Senators’ Claesson to have hearing for hit on Acciari

Fredrik Claesson and Tim Schaller dropped the gloves in a spirited tilt after Schaller took exception to Claesson's questionable hit to teammate Noel Acciari.

Ottawa Senators defenceman Fredrik Claesson will have a hearing Thursday for an illegal hit to the head of Boston Bruins forward Noel Acciari.

The hit occurred in the first period of the Senators’ 5-1 loss to the Bruins Wednesday. Claesson connected with Acciari’s head on a blind-side hit.

Claesson received a game misconduct for the offence. Acciari stayed down on the ice for a few moments but returned to action in the second period.
