Senators sign forward Matt Puempel to one-year, two-way deal

The Ottawa Senators signed forward Matt Puempel to a one-year, two-way deal on Friday.

The contract is valued at $900,000 in the NHL and $75,000 in the AHL.

The 23-year-old skated in 26 games with the Senators in 2015-16, registering two goals and an assist. He had 17 goals and 13 assists in 34 games with Binghamton.

Since being drafted by Ottawa in the first round (24th overall) of the 2011 NHL Draft, Puempel has appeared in 39 career NHL games and has four goals, two assists and 17 penalty minutes to his name.
