Senators store offering Dion Phaneuf jersey swap at 50% off

Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Lou Lamoriello joins Prime Time Sports to talk about the trade of captain Dion Phaneuf to the Ottawa Senators and the throat slash gesture from Nazem Kadri.

The Ottawa Senators are trying to make it easy for die-hard Dion Phaneuf fans to follow their favourite player to the nation’s capital.

Fans can exchange their Leafs Phaneuf sweater for a Senators one and get 50 per cent off at The Sens Store, found at the Canadian Tire Centre.

The deal only lasts for the first 50 who choose to make the swap so unfortunately it does not appear as though everyone ready to put on the red and black will be accommodated. It does not appear as though the Leafs are offering a similar deal to anyone with a Jared Cowen sweater.

These types of deals are not totally uncommon, with the Arizona Coyotes offering free Coyotes jerseys to any child with an adult who trades in a jersey from a different team.

Phaneuf makes his Ottawa debut Wednesday night in Detroit, wearing No. 2 instead of the No. 3 he’s worn throughout his career.
