Moore to have in-person hearing for Haula hit

John Moore was the second Rangers player of the night to get tossed when he followed through on Erik Haula with an elbow while going in for the open-ice hit.

New York Rangers defenseman John Moore will have face a supplementary discipline hearing as a result of his check to the head of Minnesota Wild forward Erik Haula on Monday night.

Moore’s hearing will be in-person, which means he could be sat down for more than five games.

Chris Johnston on Twitter: “John Moore’s discipline hearing will be in person, which means he can be suspended six or more games.”

Moore’s teammate, Chris Kreider, on the other hand, will not face discipline for his hit on Wild defenseman Jonas Brodin.

John Shannon on Twitter: “Rangers’ Chris Kreider will receive no additional punishment from NHL Player Safety.”

Both Moore and Kreider were ejected from Monday’s contest.
