The Nashville Predators have yet to release any further details on Shea Weber’s injury, but there’s some indication that it isn’t just a bruise.
It was confirmed Saturday that the 29-year-old will not be traveling with the team to Chicago, meaning it’s more than likely he’ll miss at least the next two games.
Weber was injured in Friday’s 6-2 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks
when Brandon Saad’s skate appeared to clip Weber’s right leg in the process of finishing a check. The Sicamous, BC native immediately limped off the ice, and had trouble putting significant weight on his injured leg.
This is obviously a serious loss for the Predators. Weber is a perennial Norris candidate who put up 15 goals and 45 points in 78 games this season.
