Must see: All six Pens in crease scramble

’Twas a game that had so much of everything, even Aaron Rogers was impressed.

Wednesday’s Penguins-Flyers epic featured a Gordie Howe hat trick (courtesy of Wayne Simmonds), a plain ol’ regular hat trick (take a bow, Jakub Voracek), a controversial non-goal (not scored by Evgeni Malkin), 11 actual goals, 48 penalty minutes, one unspeakable gesture (Voracek towards Matt Cooke), and a must-see crazy-mad crease scramble that showcased the entire Penguins side flailing about in the crease.

The chaos ended with a red lamp, lit by Philadelphia Flyers defenceman Nicklas Grossman, and the rhetorical question: Who’s got the point man?

After Pens defenceman Kris Letang — down on the goal line, well behind goaltender Tomas Vokoun — saved a goal with his hand by throwing the puck out of the net but not out of danger, Grossman fired a loose puck past the jumble of Penguins all desperately trying to prevent a goal.

The play did not unfold quite the way coach Dan Bylsma had drawn up.

At the time, the Flyers trailed 2-0 in the first period; Philly would go on to win a wild Battle of Pennsylvania 6-5. As an unfortunate byproduct of the crease-crashing, however, the whole debacle was turned into a “Harlem Shake” video, something YouTube is apparently still thirsty for.
