The calm before the storm:

Speaking of storms…

The Stanley Cup has made the trip to Chicago. Will it be staying awhile?

…Not if the Lightning can help it.

Don’t forget the Conn Smythe trophy. It made the trip, too.

Jim Hughson is ready to call the game.

Here we go!

FIRST PERIOD:

Something tells us Nikita Kucherov is feeling better. He had a great chance early in the game.

Yup, this is going to be a good game.

This is awesome: It’s a full house in Tampa Bay to watch the game.

Meanwhile… in baseball… the Chicago Cubs’ game was called due to bad weather. Look who’s here!

Though Ben Bishop received a bit of criticism for a few shaky moments… he ultimately came through in a few big first period situations.

Well, that was intense. That’s a wrap on the first period. Still no score.

SECOND PERIOD:

The second frame started with a HUGE chance for Steven Stamkos.

The consensus on that play? Stamkos probably should’ve scored there.

The Blackhawks’ offence has been a bit stalled.

…But not for long.

It’s official: Duncan Keith is a machine.

Chicago goal! Scored by none other than Duncan Keith himself. Huge goal. 1-0 Chicago.

And the hometown crowd goes wild!

Cute!

And, exhale. That’s the end of two. 1-0 Chicago.

THIRD PERIOD:

It’s a do-or-die third period for the Lightning. Are they up to the challenge?

The emotions are running high and fuel’s getting low.

(Except for Keith. His fuel seems fine.)

Both teams are starting to blend lines.

The Cup is getting closer…

2-0 Blackhawks! Patrick Kane cues up Chelsea Dagger. This could be the dagger in Tampa’s Cup hopes.

3…2…1…

The Chicago Blackhawks are your 2015 Stanley Cup Champions!

Wait, there’s something missing… the Stanley Cup. It was delayed in getting to the United Center due to flooding in the area.

It’s here!

Duncan Keith is your 2015 Conn Smythe winner.

And now… the Stanley Cup presentation!

Timonen finally gets his moment.

(It’s a little dusty in here.)

All these emotions remind us that hockey’s over… sigh.

Cheer up.. it’s party time in Chicago!

Savour the moment, Chicago. #StanleyCupMoments
