Brodie, Flames to sign 5-year, $23.25M deal

The Calgary Flames defenceman T.J. Brodie will finalize a five-year, $23.25 million contract with the club on Monday, according to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman.

Elliotte Friedman on Twitter: “Hearing Brodie AAV will be $4.65M when deal is done, likely tomorrow. Five-year contract.”

The 24-year-old Chatham, Ont., native has been a valuable member of the Flames since earning a permanent spot on the blue-line last season after splitting his time between the NHL and AHL earlier in his career.

Brodie, who was selected 114th overall by the Flames in the 2008 NHL Draft, has six points in six games so far this season.
