Matt Stajan will miss the next six weeks with a knee injury, the Calgary Flames announced Wednesday evening.
The injury occurred Tuesday night when the Calgary centre suffered a knee-on-knee hit by Montreal Canadiens defenceman Jarred Tinordi in the third period.
Stajan had just a goal and an assist through the club’s first 11 games, while averaging a meager 12:07 minutes of ice time per game.
Although off to a slow start, the former Maple Leaf did have 33 points in 63 games last season, and was among Calgary’s best forwards.
