Locked-out NHL stars P.K. Subban and Steven Stamkos are doing exactly what you might expect them to be doing these days in their newly released hockey commercial for Nike: not playing hockey.

The new ad, which is certainly inspired by the lockout but avoids mentioning the league specifically, celebrates the perseverance of Canada’s game at all levels.

“Take away my skates… take away my puck… take away my stick…” begins the ad, before Subban deadpans the punch line: “You can borrow one of mine.”

The clip, titled “Hockey Is Ours” also features cameos from Alex Ovechkin (subtitles!), Olympic gold medalist and Toronto Furies defender Tessa Bonhomme, and Winnipeg Jets prospect Mark Scheifele. Fittingly, the video arrives in advance of Team Subban and Team Stamkos’s charity NHLPA game, which will be held Wednesday night in Toronto.

“Canada, this is our calling. #HockeyIsOurs. Check out my new @Nike_Hockey commercial,” Stamkos tweeted Wednesday, presumably with the hand that wasn’t holding a fish.
