Stars’ Roussel ejected after nasty cross-check

Adam McQuaid never even saw it coming. Watch as Antoine Roussel does what he does best and totally catches McQuaid off-guard with a vicious cross-check to his exposed chin.

Dallas Stars agitator Antoine Roussel wasn’t on the ice for long before being ejected from Tuesday’s game against the Boston Bruins.

Just under four minutes into the contest, Roussel cross-checked Bruins defenceman Adam McQuaid in the throat area. He received a five-minute major and a game misconduct.

McQuaid fell to the ice immediately after the cross-check, but was able to get up under his own power.

NHL Player Safety on Twitter

This isn’t Roussel’s first major infraction this season.

He was fined $5,376.34 by the NHL’s player safety department in November after he sucker-punched San Jose defenceman Justin Braun.

He has also been outspoken about his role as the team’s wrecking ball, saying he doesn’t care that he has earned a reputation for being a dirty player.
