Stars trade Lauri Korpikoski to Blue Jackets for Dillon Heatherington

Hockey Central panel of Colby Armstrong, Ryan Whitney and Doug MacLean recall some funny stories of messing with the media on Trade Deadline Day.

The Dallas Stars have traded forward Lauri Korpikoski to the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for defence prospect Dillon Heatherington.

Korpikoski has eight goals and 12 assists in 60 games this season.

The 30-year-old earns $1 million this season and will be an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Heatherington was Columbus’ second-round pick, 50th overall, in 2013.

He has one goal and five assists in 38 AHL games with the Cleveland Monsters this season.

More to come.
