The 2014 Winter Olympics kick off a year from Thursday in Sochi, Russia.
The NHL has yet to decide if its players will participate in the Games, with a decision expected to be made in the coming weeks when the NHL, IIHF and IOC begin to talk more thoroughly about the situation.
Should the NHL decide against allowing its players to participate, Team Canada executive director Steve Yzerman is ready to put together a team without NHLers.
But if the NHL does approve the use of its players at the Winter Olympics, Yzerman and his staff have some tough decisions to make due to Canada’s national depth.
