Teemu Selanne will be a healthy scratch for the Anaheim Ducks in game four against the Dallas Stars.
The future Hockey Hall of Famer told reporters Wednesday that head coach Bruce Boudreau informed him of the lineup change Tuesday.
Selanne, who averaged just over 11 minutes of ice time in the first three games of the series, wasn’t happy when he was told he wouldn’t play.
“I’m obviously disappointed right now, but it’s Bruce’s decision and we’ll go from there,” Selanne said.
The 43-year-old Selanne suited up for 64 regular-season games in 2013-14, but Boudreau would often make him a healthy scratch to give his body a rest.
Emerson Etem will be inserted into the lineup in Selanne’s place.
The Ducks won the first two games of the series, but the Stars cut the lead to 2-1 after winning game three 3-0 in Dallas Monday.
