CALGARY — The Toronto Maple Leafs and Calgary Flames have entered a multi-year financial partnership with the Canadian Women’s Hockey League.
The Flames have committed $20,000 a year for the next four years for the five-team league, while the Leafs will chip in $30,000 annually for the next five years.
Both NHL clubs will provide marketing for the CWHL teams in their areas via promotions and on their websites.
The CWHL has teams in Calgary, Toronto, Brampton, Ont., Montreal and Boston.
Several players from the Canadian and U.S. national women’s teams and some from Europe play in the CWHL.
