Clarence Kparghai has been fined 900 Swiss francs for biting New York Islanders forward John Tavares on Dec. 22 during a Swiss league game.

Tavares has been playing with Bern during the NHL lockout and has 39 points in 27 games. He was part of the Canadian team that won the Spengler Cup.
