Twitter reacts to lack of Winter Classic

It has become a New Year’s Day tradition for many hockey fans across North America to sit back, relax and take in some outdoor hockey action. For the past five years the annual NHL Winter Classic has been a hit, unfortunately 2013 didn’t start that way.

Had there not been this extended NHL lockout, the Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Red Wings would ring in the New Year by playing a regular season game in front of over 100,000 people at Michigan Stadium.

The hockey world was abuzz on Twitter with tweets of what could have been. Some funny, some matter of fact, some with a sense of disappointment. Even the Karate Kid himself, Ralph Macchio, gave his two cents!
