TWITTER’S UTTER DISBE-LEAF
Yes, that really happened.
The Toronto Maple Leafs had grittily clawed their way back into their first round playoff series with the Boston Bruins after overcoming a 3-1 deficit in games, but then surrendered a 4-1 third period lead in Game 7 and fell in overtime by a 5-4 count.
Needless to say, Twitter ramped up considerably as the Bruins’ comeback began to take shape and when Patrice Bergeron put away the series clincher, social media exploded.
Here’s just a taste of what was said across the hockey world.

That’s what sports is. The good and the bad. Someday, maybe, if you’re lucky, all the bad moments end up making one good moment mean more.

This, folks, is why we watch sports. Because the impossible becomes possible when enough people work hard enough to make it happen

Wow. You have to feel for Leafs Nation. Wouldn’t surprise me if the Bruins went on to win the Cup after that comeback. #Playoffs

One of the worst losses in Leafs history doesn’t erase the strides they made this year. The final strides were just into a plane propeller.
