Vancouver Canucks forward Zack Kassian could soon be hearing from NHL disciplinarian Brendan Shanahan after hitting Dallas Stars defenceman Brendon Dillon from behind.
Kassian hit Dillon into the sideboards in front of the Canucks bench at 18:30 of the first period and was assessed a five-minute major for boarding and a game misconduct. Dillon appeared to be shaken up on the play but returned early in the second frame.
Kassian, 23, was suspended for three pre-season games and five regular season games in September for a high stick on Edmonton Oilers forward Sam Gagner.
