Washington Capitals re-sign goalie Phoenix Copley

The Washington Capitals have re-signed goaltender Pheonix Copley to a two-year, $1.3-million contract.

Copley’s contract is a two-way deal ($650,000 in the NHL and $200,000 in the AHL) during the 2017-18 season and a one-way pact ($650,000) for 2018-19.

Copley, 25, posted a 26-11-3 record with one shutout, a 2.25 goals-against average and a .924 save percentage in 41 AHL games with the Chicago Wolves and Hershey Bears in 2016-17.

He’s appeared in two career NHL games with the St. Louis Blues.
