Watch: 11-year-old star female British goalie

Remember the name: Emma Nichols.

She’s 11 years old, she’s British, she’s a really great goaltender and she’s now our good-news story of the day.

Nichols recently earned herself a shutout with an awesome 35-save performance for the South East under-11s during last week’s English Ice Hockey Association Junior Inter-Conference Tournament game against Midlands.

Watch the video of her finest saves, including a nice little glove save at the 0:50 mark and a killer kick-save around 1:15.

Emma’s MVP-worthy efforts led her team to the tournament finals, where they lost in penalty shots to Scotland.

Great Britain isn’t exactly a hotspot for women’s ice hockey, having never qualified a women’s team for the Olympic Games. But the country just might have their next great female goaltender to carry them there.

Keep up the great work, Emma. We look forward to seeing you at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games!
