Montreal Canadiens defenceman Douglas Murray will not be suspended for a hit from behind on New York Islanders forward Johan Sundstrom, according to Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports.
The hit came midway through the second period. Sundstrom was very slow to get up and had to be helped off the ice. Murray received a five-minute checking from behind penalty and a 10-minute game misconduct.
It was Murray’s first game back after serving a three-game suspension for an illegal check to the head of Tampa Bay Lightning defenceman Michael Kostka on Apr. 1.
