The first-overall pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, Nail Yakupov, will look to build off his strong game on Sunday when the Edmonton Oilers hit the road to take on the Winnipeg Jets in pre-season action at 8:00 p.m. ET / 6:00 p.m. MT.

The game will be streamed live on Sportsnet.ca to viewers in the Oilers broadcast region (Alberta, Saskatchewan, Northwest Territories and Nunavut).

Yakupov didn’t contribute on the scoresheet on Sunday in a split-squad game loss against the Calgary Flames, but was a positive force offensively in over 15 minutes of ice time. The Russian forward is looking to get back on track this season after scoring only 24 points in 63 games while posting a lowly minus-33 rating in 2013-14.

Evander Kane will play in his first pre-season action of 2014-15 against the Oilers and play alongside Mark Scheifele and Blake Wheeler. Danny Taylor and Michael Hutchinson will see action in net for Winnipeg.

Winnipeg is coming off a 2-1 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Monday night. Dustin Byfuglien and veteran Bryan Little scored for the Jets in the win.
