Watch: Tommy Lasorda snubs Jack Johnson

Apparently, Tommy Lasorda takes his ceremonial puck drops as seriously as his pitching changes and diet shakes.

When the former Los Angeles Dodgers manager came out on the Staples Center ice to drop the puck in celebration of Dodgers Pride Night, he chatted with Los Angeles Kings captain Dustin Brown but refused to acknowledge Columbus Blue Jackets defenceman (and former King) Jack Johnson at the face-off circle.

Then, after dropping the puck, he left Johnson hanging and would not shake his hand.

The camera catches Jeff Carter laughing on the bench, as Johnson slips his glove back on and flashes a grin in disbelief.

Afterwards, Lasorda was interviewed briefly by Fox Sports reporter Patrick O’Neal.

Some viewers suspected the 85-year-old simply forgot to shake Johnson’s hand.

But O’Neal mentioned off-camera that he asked Tommy about snubbing Jackson, to which Lasorda replied, “You do not talk to the opposition.”
