Watch as Wayne Gretzky explained how Jarri Kurri stands out as the player he connected most with when he played in the NHL.

Like egg nog’s availability, Wayne Gretzky’s appearance on The Simpsons was over too quick.

The Great One’s well-hyped cameo on the iconic cartoon’s Christmas episode aired Sunday, and amounted to all of about 15 seconds and four words: “He’s got a gun!”

A sweater-tucked No. 99 appears midway through “The Nightmare After Krustmas” in Maggie’s yuletide nightmare alongside Santa Claus, the Abominable Snowman, and Jack Frost & Santa Claus — a winter super team.

As far as hockey legends getting featured on The Simpsons, it’s no Gordie Howe. As far as awesome Gretzky network TV comedy, it’s no “Waikiki Hockey.” And as far as classic Simpsons winter episodes, it’s no “Mr. Plow.

Still, it’s fun to see the best to ever strap on a pair of skates honoured by one of greatest comedy institutions. Santa status.
