Wild agree to terms with goaltender Curry

ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Minnesota Wild have agreed to terms with goaltender John Curry on a one-year, two-way contract.

Under the deal announced Thursday, Curry will be paid his NHL salary only if he is on the NHL roster. If he is sent to the AHL, he will get a minor-league salary.

Curry was one of five goalies who played last season for the Wild. He had a 43-save win in April against St. Louis.

The 30-year-old from Shorewood, Minnesota, was 7-9-2 with a 2.62 goals-against average, a .930 save percentage and one shutout in 19 games with the AHL’s Iowa Wild last season. He appeared in two NHL games with Minnesota, going 1-0-0 with a 3.00 goals-against average and a .930 save percentage.

He played in four games with the Pittsburgh Penguins from 2008-10.
