Wild ink goaltender Kuemper to one-year, $1.55-million deal

Holy moly on a cracker! How did Kuemper do that? That was what Alex Ovechkin was saying after a perfect set up by Schmidt amounted to only highlight reel larceny by the Wild goalie.

The Minnesota Wild have signed goaltender Darcy Kuemper to a one-year, $1.55-million contract.

Kuemper appeared in 21 games with the Wild in 2015-16 and finished with a 6-7-5 record to go with a .915 save percentage and a 2.43 goals-against average.

The Wild selected Kuemper in the sixth round (161st overall) of the 2009 NHL Draft.

The 26-year-old has a 33.29-11 record, 2.47 goals-against average, and a .912 save percentage in 84 career games.
