Andrew Shaw apologized after using insensitive language toward the referees in the Blackhawks’ loss to the Blues.

For better or worse, Andrew Shaw was the talk of the sports world on Wednesday morning.

The Chicago Blackhawks forward was under fire following a homophobic slur directed at on-ice officials at the end of Game 4 of the first-round playoff series against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Later on Wednesday, the NHL announced that Shaw received a one-game suspension and was fined $5,000 for the inappropriate gesture.
