Jets players organize charity game in Winnipeg

WINNIPEG — Despite the National Hockey League lockout, Winnipeg residents will get to see some pro hockey players in action.

Andrew Ladd and Mark Stuart, who normally play for the Winnipeg Jets, are helping to organize a charity game for Nov. 17 at the University of Manitoba.

The players have invited other NHLers, including Jonathan Toews and Blake Wheeler, but some of thos invited have left to play in Europe.

The event will raise money for Manitoba children’s charities, including the Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Tickets are $20.
